Shining Stars Ballet & Tap Combo is 45 minutes of TAP + BALLET with some HIP-HOP sprinkled in for fun.

If a class consists of four or fewer students, the class is held for 35 minutes.

Our expectation is that the dancer “stays on their spot” and “listens” to their teacher.

Show Stars Hip Hop is a 35-minute hip-hop class for students ages 5-12 years of age.

Tumble Stars is a 30-minute beginner tumble class where children learn beginner basics of tumbling.

Dance begins in September and runs through the end of May.

Ballet & Tap:  We recommend that your child is 3 years old by December 31^st of the registering school year.

This class’s age range is 3-6 years old. Bigger classes are split into younger and older age groups. After schoolers, Hip-Hop is for students ages 5-12 years of age. My First Ballet Class/Creative Movement Class is offered at select daycare centers for 2-year-old toddlers.

Should your preschool be closed or cancel a class for ANY reason- weather, holidays, field trips, etc. – we are not responsible for a make-up class. Should we cancel a class for any reason (other than weather), we will make every effort to reschedule. In the rare event we cannot, you may call for prorated tuition. There is already 1 snow day/sick dance teacher day worked into your tuition rate.

Each class will prepare for and participate in a full-scale Dance Recital in June. Our Dance Recital usually takes place the 1^st Saturday in June at a performance venue. There is a Recital/Costume charge that can be broken up into 3 payment installments. Full refunds of recital fee are given prior to February 1^st Then after February 1^st a 50% refund is honored. No Recital refund after MARCH 1^st.

New Sign Ups in February & March may POSSIBLY be able to participate in recital but there is no GUARANTEE costumes are available.  

Students will need both Tap and Ballet shoes, any color is acceptable; The tap shoes come in black patent leather and have silver metal taps, pick a size close to tennis shoe size. Ballet shoes come in a peach color.

YOU MAY PURCHASE DANCE SHOES EASILY off our DLS WEBSITE (Bonus! Inexpensive & shipped directly to your home). Leotards and dance skirts are optional to include in your child’s dance bag.

# 1 –WRITE YOUR CHILD’S NAME – inside their tap/ballet shoes and leotard with a permanent marker.

# 2 –PROVIDE A SEPARATE DANCE BAG: for dance shoes/items. This can be any ordinary plain bag; this bag always stays at school.

# 3 –EMAIL CORRESPONDENCE is our primary form of communication with our dance parents. Please make sure DLS emails aren’t sent to your SPAM folder. 

any color/style is acceptable for dance class, but not required. Children are NOT to wear tights for dance class unless they were already wearing them before dance class begins (tights take up too much dance time to change 10 little girls in and out of). Some children “dress out” for dance and some do not. Our teachers will change your child in and out of their dance attire. Note: that a small portion of time during dance class is used to dress out for dance class.

Suggestion: have your child wear a pullover dress to school over their leotard on dance day, and bring her to school already in her dance attire. Dancers who wear SCHOOL UNIFORMS & TWO YEAR /MY 1^st BALLET CLASS  “ DO NOT” change into a leotard for dance class.

$$$ Dance Tuition is due on the 1st of the month, no later than the 5^th of each month. If paid on the 6^th or later, you will automatically be charged a $15.00 late fee. Tuition is based on a set number of classes per dance season which calculate a set price. Holiday breaks & weeks that we don’t dance have been worked into the yearly tuition. The fee is then broken down into monthly payments for your convenience. DLS charges 30% less than our competitors.

Should your account become delinquent please contact our office to discuss, should a family hardship occur we will make arrangements/concessions for your dancer. Dancers’ accounts with a past due balance can not participate in the year-end recital.

We highly recommend setting up automated credit card secured processing via our parent portal or automatic bill pay via your banking institution using our address. Or you may also mail a check to our office monthly.

We do not send out progress reports as this is their very first exposure to dance. You are welcome to come to observe dance class at any time. Assume if you DO NOT hear from us your dancer’s progress is right on track. Regarding parent observation… We ask if you are going to come and watch that you DO NOT let your child know you are there  UNTIL AFTER dance class. Please peek from the other room, through the window or the door.

We have found, through repeated experience, that when parents come into the room to watch class, the children (sometimes yours or someone else’s) do not dance or dance to their full potential. This is always disruptive to our dance instruction. For security purposes, only the daycare or DLS employees may help the children get dressed or use the restroom.

Notification of dancers withdrawing from class or transferring to a different school must be sent to us in writing: an email, letter, or via our website. If we are not notified in writing, then any refund is void and not owed to the parent/guardian.

Please note: Your school and our dance teachers are not responsible for informing our office of the status of your dancer. 

Dancing Little Stars reserves the right to terminate any student’s enrollment in dance class at any time, for any reason. The expectation is for the child to have age-appropriate self-control to sit on a dance spot with “good listening” ears. Dancers shall not throw dance props or dance shoes, play with daycare toys, stand on desks (tables), run out of the room, or spit or hit another dance student.

Dancing Little Stars reserves the right to terminate any student’s enrollment in dance class at any time, for any reason. A parent may withdraw their dancer from dance class at any time, for any reason. We reserve the right to use group or individual photos taken at the dance recital of your dancer to include, but are not limited to our promotions, displays, and material.
